Newry will embrace festive spirit with free family activities at Marcus Square, Hill Street from 5pm to 7.30pm as the area hosts the return of the Christmas Lights Switch On.

The stage will come alive with festive musical performances from The Uplifted Gospel Choir with Special Guests Emily Flanagan (The Voice Kids Finalist) and Sophie Lennon (Eurovision Jnr Finalist) and hosted by County Down singer Connor Martin.

There will be free amusements, arts and craft workshops, face painting and balloon modelling.

The Southern Area Hospice will also host their Santa Fun Run on Hill Street at 6pm.

Wrap up warm and be there in time to watch Santa arrive to switch the lights on at 6.45pm followed by traditional and modern Christmas songs.
